#1119 Leisi, Saaremaa

Four of the five Angla windmills are typical trestle windmills characteristic of the island of Saaremaa. They were built at the beginning of the 20th century. A Dutch-style windmill, slightly taller than the others and built in 1927, stands in the middle of the group. Now also forming part of the complex is the Angla Heritage Culture Centre, where you can take part in a number of workshops - trying your hand at pottery, felting, bread-making and more.

Did you know...? *The windmills were last renovated between 2009 and 2011 *All of the windmills are open to the public - in one you have the chance to watch a miller at work *This is the only windmill mount on Saaremaa to have maintained its original look.
