Tunisia, officially the Republic of Tunisia, is a country in the Maghreb region of North Africa, covering 163,610 square kilometres (63,170 square miles). Its northernmost point, Cape Angela, is the northernmost point on the African continent. It is bordered by Algeria to the west and southwest, Libya to the southeast, and the Mediterranean Sea to the north and east. Tunisia's population was 11.435 million in 2017. Tunisia's name is derived from its capital city, Tunis, which is located on its northeast coast.

Latifa Bint Alaya El Arfaoui (Arabicلطيفة بنت عليه العرفاوي‎ ; born February 14, 1968), better known as Latifa (Arabicلطيفة‎), is a Tunisian pop singer.

Oussama "Ous" Mellouli (Arabicأسامة الملولي‎; born 16 February 1984) is a Tunisian swimmer who competes in the freestyle and medley events. He is a three-time Olympic medalist, is an African record holder, and trains with the USC Trojans team based at the University of Southern California, where he studied as a computer science undergraduate and swam collegiately.

Since returning from an Adderall related drugs ban, Oussama Mellouli has been the 1500 m freestyle World champion at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships with a winning time of 14:37.28, then the second best performance of all time. Mellouli was the gold medalist in the 1500 freestyle at the 2008 Olympics, the bronze medalist in the 1500 freestyle at the 2012 Olympics, and the gold medalist in the 10 km marathon swim at the 2012 Olympics. He is the first Olympian to win medals in both the open water and the pool in a single Olympics.

Mohammed Tlili ben Abdallah (Arabicمحمد التليلي بن عبدالله‎), also known as Moham(m)ed Gammoudi, (born February 11, 1938) is a Tunisian athlete who competed as a long distance runner in international track and field competitions. He represented Tunisia in the TokyoMexico City, and Munich Olympiads and recorded four medals, including a gold medal in the 5000 metres event in Mexico City. Gammoudi was also competitive at 10,000 metres.

Azzedine Alaïa (Arabicعز الدين عليّة‎, romanized: ʿIzz ad-Dīn ʿAlayya; 26 February 1935 – 18 November 2017) was a Tunisian-born couturier and shoe designer, particularly successful beginning in the 1980s.

Jebel ech Chambi (Arabicجبل الشعانبي‎; also spelled Mount Ash-Sha'nabi) is a mountain peak in Tunisia. It sits at an elevation of 1544m, the highest summit in the territory. The mountain stands above the city of Kasserine in western central Tunisia. It is covered by a pine forest and surrounded by Chaambi National Park.

Amphitheatre of El Jem is an oval amphitheatre in the modern-day city of El DjemTunisia, formerly Thysdrus in the Roman province of Africa. It is listed by UNESCO since 1979 as a World Heritage Site.
