Taipei City (traditional Chinese: 臺北市; pinyin: Táiběi Shì) is the capital of the Republic of China (commonly known as "Taiwan") and the central city of the largest metropolitan area of Taiwan. Taipei 101 is a 101-floor landmark skyscraper that claimed the title of world's tallest building when it opened in 2004. Right now, Taipei 101 is the world's second tallest building.
