Between 1935 and 1943 the WPA's Federal Art Project printed over two million posters in 35,000 different  designs to stir the public's imagination for education, theater, health, safety and travel. Due to their fragile nature only two thousand posters have survived.

Mission San Luis Rey de Francia is a former Spanish mission in the present-day city of OceansideCalifornia. The mission was founded on June 13, 1798 by Padre Fermín Lasuén, and was the eighteenth of the Spanish missions established in California. Named for Saint Louis, the mission lent its name to the Luiseño tribe of Mission Indians.
