Jason Wu (Chinese吳季剛pinyinWú Jìgāng; born September 27, 1982) is a Taiwanese Canadian fashion designer based in New York City. He is most famous for designing the dresses of Michelle Obama on several occasions, including during first and second inauguration of American President Barack Obama.

Lin Hwai-min (Chinese林懷民pinyinLín HuáimínPe̍h-ōe-jīLîm Hôai-bîn; born 19 February 1947) is a Taiwanese dancerwriterchoreographer and founder of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan.

Bubble tea, also known as pearl milk tea or boba milk tea, is a Taiwanese tea-based drink invented in Taichung in the 1980s. The term "bubble" is an Anglicized imitative form derived from the Chinese bōbà (波霸), meaning "large", slang for the large, chewy tapioca balls commonly added to the drink. These are (粉圓, fěnyuán), also called "pearls" (珍珠, zhēnzhū). Most bubble tea recipes contain a tea base mixed with fruit or milk. Ice-blended versions are usually mixed with fruit or syrup, resulting in a slushy consistency.

Yushan (Chinese玉山pinyinYù Shān; literally: "Jade Mountain"), also Mount Yu is the highest mountain in Taiwan and the fourth highest mountain on an island. In the past, Yushan was known among English-speaking expats and missionaries as Mount Morrison, thought to have been named in honor of the 19th century missionary Robert Morrison. Today, the mountain is referred to as Yushan or Jade Mountain.

Taipei 101 (Chinese臺北101 / 台北101), formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Center, is a landmark supertall skyscraper located in Xinyi DistrictTaipeiTaiwan. The building ranked officially as the world's tallest from 2004 until the opening of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai in 2010. In July 2011, the building was awarded LEED Platinum certification, the highest award in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system and became the tallest and largest green building in the world. Taipei 101 was designed by C.Y. Lee & partners and constructed primarily by KTRT Joint Venture. The construction was finished in 2004. The tower has served as an icon of modern Taiwan ever since its opening. Fireworks launched from Taipei 101 feature prominently in international New Year's Eve broadcasts and the structure appears frequently in travel literature and international media.
